MANA MANA
Recorded 1988 in Helsinki
Released 1988
First version of maybe the most popular song in Mana Mana's history. Rude symbolism about
life's aspiration and loss of love. A story (a rumour maybe) tells that this song is about a girl Jouni Mömmö met in his times
in the asylum. The girl imagined that Mömmö was a reborn Jesus.
Hence the reference to Maria Magdalena, Jesus' mother.
Fact:
recorded 1990
released 1990 Rubber Rabbit Records
A completely tight package: unique sound, hollow vocals and lyrics uncomperable to anything.
no finnish nor foreign band after them has done anything like this.
A true timeless classic...
Favourite !!
Favourite!! About going your own way with all its decisions, getting lost and being in pain.
Second version of this cult song with deeper and more atmospheric guitar wall on it.

1. Raptori
First song from a really strange and totally different Mana Mana-release. This song is a parody 'bout all the
rap/hiphop/whatevershit-bands, which popped up in late 80's like shit. It's about how cool it is to sing
shit and act like Sabrina on the stage. Also economists are praised in this song.
2. Suikki
This song is originally recorded by another joensuu-band called Neljä Ruusua (nowadays known as 4R).
As I do remember this song can be found from their debut-album, but Mana Mana has altered lyrics "a bit".
But both songs equally tell about blow-jobs.

A song recorded in "Totuus Palaa"-sessions, but remained unreleased until "Complete Kaikki"-compilation.
Quite typical, but not bad song in any means. About fooling and being fooled.
"On silmäs täynnä kusta. . . "
I dunno if Mana Mana did this with Jouni Mömmö, but at least this song was heard at the beginning
of "Mikä on sun Taivas ? A document of Otra Romppanen" -document. Vocals were done by Otra.
His syncronous/post-Mana Mana -band, Psychoplasma, has done this with a english title "On the road".
Version can be found in Psycoplasma's mini-album "An Umbrella" (recommended!).
A remix by Otra Romppanen. Original song "Totuus Palaa" , now with Otra's vocals and english lyrics.
A remix by Otra Romppanen. Original song "Ilmestyskirjan Peto" , now with Otra's vocals and english lyrics.
With quite sick vocals. No good . .
A remix by Otra Romppanen. Original song "Kuolla Elävänä" , now with Otra's vocals and english lyrics.
Maybe the only one song in which the english lyrics suit quite well.
"To die alive ... it has it both sides ..."
A remix by Otra Romppanen. Original song "Ketä sä rakastat" , now with Otra's vocals and english lyrics.
Both translation and vocals are quite horrible even you haven't heard the original ones.
